Burgundy wines originate in the Burgundy region of France. Located in the eastern part of France, this region runs from north to south. The climate has hot summers along with very cold winters. However, other white varieties in the region include the Aligote and the Sauvignon Blanc. The predominant red grape from this area is the Pinot Noir.
