Orchids have been grown and loved by people for almost 2,000 years, and continue to be a celebrated flower. Their size can range from being so small that they can fit inside of the human hand or so large that they require a basin the size of a bathtub in which to thrive and be cultivated. Although orchids and plants like it are by nature rare and difficult to care for, modern breeding efforts have caused them to be very accessible to the general population and easy to grow and enjoy in standard homes and gardens.
There are over 25,000 species of orchids found in various regions of the world from the Arctic Circle to Lake Huron. However, most are found in the tropics. Efforts are being made to conserve some species, which are endangered. It takes extra care and long-term planning to be sure that orchids and plants that are rare like this are well-preserved and prevented from reaching extinction.
In order to have orchids that bloom at all times of the year, it is important to have different species because they all have their own blooming times. Some, such as the green orchid and the blooming spider orchid bloom during the summer months while many tropical orchids bloom in the fall through the spring. Orchids and plants that have such a wide variety of blooming times should produce flowers all year round if the cultivator is sure to diversify the varieties that he or she plants. The Phalaenopsis variety, which Serenata offers, is known for its blooming longevity of three to four months.
In order for orchids to produce robust flowers, the soil must be supplemented with fertilizer or plant food. Also, they should only be trimmed or transplanted when they have grown large enough. For more information, visit your local orchids and plants conservatory or library.

This is what some of our customers say
Thank you very much for your efficiency which I was very impressed with. The ease of ordering the confirmation e mail and the quality of the flowers and timing - all were perfect. We saw the flowers ordered ourselves as we visited our relatives later that day. The sunflowers in the bouquet were fabulous and the bouquet itself was beautiful. Well done and thank you
