In the TV room or lounge, fill an empty fireplace with a big vase of flowers. Arrange a variety of containers with fresh cut stems across your mantlepiece.
This soft, rich red has cedar notes and a touch of earthiness ‘drinking claret’ as they say, with plummy Merlot fruit to the fore.
’2005 Bordeaux Bargain’ - Jancis Robinson, Financial Times
“Summer clarets should be lighter, fruitier and less full-bodied than the big red bordeaux we drink in winter and this ripe, gentle, plummy, merlot-dominated ’06, topped up with cabernet sauvignon and given just a few months of barrel ageing, fits the bill. Bernard Ducourt bought Château Beauregard, situated halfway between Bordeaux and St Émilion in the Entre deux Mers, in 1973 and with his winemaker nephew, Jérémy, has been upgrading the wine ever since.” - Jane Macquitty, `Top 100 Summer Wines, The Times, 26/06/10

Producer: First noted back in 1874, this property had fallen into disrepair prior to purchase by the Ducourt family in 1973. Philippe Ducourt is a great proponent of the ‘Agriculture Raisonnée’ system aimed to minimise pesticide use. Temperature controlled fermentation and minimal interference within the winery environment allow the wines to develop clean fruit flavours whilst remaining true to their terroir. The 62 hectares at Beauregard-Ducourt now produce some delicious wines that offer great quality as well as value.
