This eponymous wine is most representative of the house style - 12 months in half French and half American oak barrels, 100% Tinto Fino from 15 – 25 yo vines. Smoky, earthy, ripe black fruits and a touch of spice on the nose which follows through onto the palate. Good concentration, powerful, rounded tannins, touch of dark chocolate – lovely balance, great structure. The finish is long, clean – altogether very impressive, especially within its price range. Highly recommended, especially with some roast lamb, beef, BBQs and so on.
`The 2006 Emilio Moro was aged in French and American oak for 12 months. It has a superb bouquet of smoke, roasted herbs, scorched earth, and blackberry. Layered on the palate, it has tons of fruit, plenty of spice box notes, a firm structure, and 2-3 years of aging potential. This lengthy effort should provide pleasure through 2026. The Moro family has been making wine in Ribera del Duero for over 120 years.Drink 2009-2026`

Producer: The Chavys are an institution in Puligny, dating back a couple of centuries now and in 2002 Alain Chavy and his brother, Jean-Louis,brdivided their father’s domaine up and went their own ways – albeit not very far! On a recent visit to the newly built and deep cellars ofbrAlain to taste through his 2006 and 2007 Puligny Montarchets we were expecting to taste some decent wine as his father had some seriously good vineyards and always made a true style of Puligny.
