85% Sauvignon Blanc plus Semillon. A lovely wine to look at; tinges of gold and green, plenty of ripe citrus fruit on the nose, with a packed, racy palate of lemon and lime plus gentle floral notes. Great value.
1 x 2005 Ch. La Rose du Pin Rouge
Majority Merlot plus Cabernet Sauvignon and a touch of Cabernet Franc. The Ducourts avoid over-cropping like the plague, and de-budding, green harvesting and then careful grape selection at harvest, a refreshing change for this level of Bordeaux. Very clean winemaking again – good, ripe fruit on the nose, plums, earthiness, cedar notes. Soft velvety tannins, quite lush – black fruits, cassis, plum. A really good glass of Bordeaux – just a delight with some cheese or beef, or just to relax with. Well done the Ducourts!
