Only made in ‘vintage’ years when the quality is considered good enough, in many ways vintage champagnes are the truest expression of vineyard and grape, and Pol are more selective than many. 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay from up to 20 Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. The 2000 release has lovely layering in the palate with complex aromas and palate, real depth and precision; fabulous!
‘Vivid gold. Pungent citrus blossom, pear and subtle lees on the nose, with a suave tangerine quality building with air. Plush and silky but at the same time energetic, with vibrant quince and soft citrus flavors supported by a racy mineral underpinning. Fleshes out on the long, precise finish, which is deepened by a gently toasty leesiness.`
