Organic Syrah, Dom. Petit Roubie

Floriane and Olivier Azan have owned Petit Roubié since 1981 and grow their grapes organically (Ecocert accredited) near Pinet between Montpellier and Béziers. These are ‘everyday’ wines which punch well above their weight; varietal reds and whites of real character, not simply inoffensive. The Petit Roubié wines work well alone, but are also excellent food wines. The white wines are destemmed, cold-clarified and cool fermented – all designed to maintain freshness in the wines.

Despite being from the South, actually most similar to a good Crozes Hermitage in style. Supple and spicy with dark and red berry fruits and peppercorns. A great all rounder, try with sausages or grilled meat.
