Did you know that you CAN drink some red wines with fish. Try Pinot Noir, a young Cabarnet Sauvignon, a red Loire or some of the Red wines from Germany, Alsace or Austria.
A delightful glass of Chardonnay - hints apple, kiwi (of course!), good ripeness and minerality.
‘Bright, tangy and elegant, this vibrant wine has grapefruit and pineapple flavors at the fore, picking up apple and spice as the finish lingers effortlessly. Drink now through 2017.’

Producer: Kumeu River Wines was established in 1944 when Mick and Katé Brajkovich and their son Maté first came to the small country settlement of Kumeu, about 20 km northwest of Auckland - the family had migrated from Yugoslavia in 1938 and had been working in the far north of New Zealand digging kauri gum. After moving to Henderson West Auckland in the early 1940s they worked on vineyards and orchards in the area and saved enough money to buy a property with a small existing vineyard at Kumeu. Once Michael Brajkovich Maté’s son makes his mind up to do something it tends to get done. Just as his Chardonnays have a lovely minerality, typicity and sense of place, so his Sauvignon Blanc balances out the classic Marlborough ripeness of fruit with a richness and depth that most other producers fail to match - not all, but most.
