Yannick and the team have really captured the enticing damson and cherry Merlot fruit on the nose, with that faint ‘earthiness’, then Syrah shines through on the ripe, spicy but savoury palate of ripe plum, strawberry and gentle black pepper. Good food structure.
1 x 2008 Chardonnay
This is what the Languedoc does best; a lovely combination of ‘classic’ French gentle almond nuttiness, floral aromas and minerality combined with warmer climate peach and fresh pineapple fruit. Ripe but balanced – what’s not to like? 1 x 2008 Sauvignon Blanc
This is a delicious, racy glass packed with Granny Smith apple, crunchy pear and good ‘stony’ mineral notes underneath. Perfect with fresh seafood, grilled fish and green salads.
