Floriane and Olivier Azan have owned Petit Roubié since 1981 and grow their grapes organically (Ecocert accredited) near Pinet between Montpellier and Béziers. Their white wines are destemmed, cold-clarified and cool fermented – all designed to maintain freshness in the wines and all the reds give benchmark expressions of the grape varieties from this exciting area of Southern France. Once the region for blending wines or cheap, rather rough, country wines, the Vin de Pays de l’Herault is now amongst the most innovative of regions in France’s fight back against the New World with fruit driven, varietal wines.
